General information

HR Holdings GmbH is a German company headquartered in Hanover. Its various subsidiaries, departments, and partners primarily focus on the trading of goods and all related business areas, both nationally and internationally. The company places great emphasis on dedicated, goal-oriented work and the development of trusting, long-term partnerships. HR Holdings GmbH's central aim is to make the world as happy and livable as possible, thereby making a valuable contribution to society. This conviction shapes its daily operations and forms the basis for the company's sustainable success.

The History

HR Holdings GmbH was founded in 2017 by Mr. Yilin Liu as HR Handels GmbH in Hanover. In close collaboration with Ms. Shasha Zhou, who had studied economics with Mr. Liu in Hanover and had already been involved in trade between Germany and China since 2013, the company quickly and successfully exported large quantities of German goods to China. Upon her return to China, Ms. Zhou was able to further develop and expand her customer base and network, enabling even faster market access.

Thanks to an open approach to the needs of Chinese customers and respectful and friendly communication with German suppliers, the company was able to overcome cultural barriers and gain the trust of both sides. As a result, HR Handels GmbH quickly proved itself a reliable partner and established itself as one of the largest retailers of consumer goods between Germany and China.

In 2019, Ms. Zhou expanded the business by establishing Huarong Beijing Ltd. in the Chinese capital. This enabled even closer and more independent cooperation between the two companies. As a result, further markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Pakistan were opened up, and the business activities surrounding commodity trading were expanded.

In order to meet the growing business opportunities and to successfully expand further projects and business areas (also independent of the trade in goods), HR Handels GmbH was renamed HR Holdings GmbH in 2024.

Philosophy

The idea

HR Holdings GmbH's philosophy is based on the conviction that the fundamental task of every company is to make the world a better place. The company's slogan, "Create Value and Happiness," is far more than just a guiding principle – it embodies the core principles that drive the company's actions.

HR Holdings sees its core mission as identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions that improve the world in specific areas. The company focuses on creating products and services that offer genuine added value and bring about sustainable, positive change in society. Driven by a strong innovative spirit, HR Holdings pushes existing boundaries and develops new business models and technologies that promote progress and are enduring.

Another cornerstone of HR Holdings' corporate philosophy is social responsibility. The company is aware of the impact of its business activities on society and the environment and strives not only to achieve economic success but also to make a significant contribution to society and make the world a better place.

These principles – problem-solving, innovation, social responsibility, and efficiency – shape HR Holdings' daily operations and form the foundation of its corporate culture. With this philosophy, the company strives to create value and enrich the lives of people and their environment in a sustainable way.

What do the letters "H" and "R" stand for?

The letters H and R stand for the initial letters of the Chinese characters '华' (Huá) and '嵘' (Róng). '华' symbolizes elegance, culture, and prosperity, while '嵘' represents the summit of a mountain and embodies the challenges and difficulties required to reach that height.

Together, these symbols represent HR Holdings' pursuit of excellence, growth, and overcoming obstacles on the path to success.

The Legend of the Carp & Dragon

A Chinese legend tells of a place in the Yellow River called the Dragon Gate, which appears once every millennium. Each year, many carp swim upstream against the strong current to reach the Dragon Gate. However, the Dragon Gate is a steep waterfall that only a few carp can overcome. The current is so strong and the ascent so difficult that many carp give up or are swept back downstream.

But those carp that manage to jump over the Dragon's Gate are transformed into mighty dragons. Once transformed, they can fly freely through the clouds and view the world from above. The carp that overcomes the Dragon's Gate is therefore seen as a symbol of success and transformation.

This story is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and is often used to encourage people to persevere and stick to their goals despite all adversity. It teaches us that with perseverance, courage, and hard work, great successes can be achieved, and that it is possible to overcome even the most difficult obstacles.
